Who are you?
I’m Zoilitta. I live in Cheltenham, UK and I’m originally from Belize.
By day, I work in Financial Services. In my spare time, I’m a beginner golfer striving, and at times, struggling to learn the game.
What’s golf to you?
I started playing golf in April 2023, and what started as a new hobby, quickly beame an obsession. Golf is the thing I do to make myself proud. It has given me confidence and has empowered me, pushing me massively out of my comfort zone. When I’m doing well on the course, I feel like a badass (though often I just feel like I’m bad!) My one golfing regret that I didn’t start playing years ago.
Target handicap?
I don’t have an official handicap but I’m generally competitive playing off of 32. I’ve recently become a member of a golf club and will become official very soon! One of my goals is to break 100 and my best score to date has been 104, so watch this space.
Favorite item in your bag?
My driver. It’s the club that I’m usually semi-impressive with.
I also keep a lemon and poppy seed muffin that I like to bust out when I finish the front nine.
Favorite golf course?
Cleeve Hill, which just so happens to be my home course. It’s in the middle of the Cotswold’s but feels like a links course. The views are breathtaking and in the summer the greenkeeping is partly done by the visiting sheep on the common. If you want pristine and manicured, this is not that, but if you want a raw, rugged, authentic and ‘come as you are’ experience, then come play some golf with me.
