Who are you?
My name is Doug Hwang. I’ve been a leisure golfer for over 20 years. I work as a Commercial Gang Boss/Teamster of the Local 399 as my day to day job. I like old Harley Davidsons, American cars and Golfing a lot.
What’s golf to you?
Golf is what keeps my competitive spirit alive. There’s no other sport where you can be just an average athlete and be able to feel that big pressure of making a 3 foot $250-$500 putt. Sometimes you make it and sometimes you don’t, but the feeling you get when the shot is worth everything, heart is beating out of your chest and over coming the chance of choking or freezing up is priceless. I love gambling, talking shit and drinking beer with my friends… golf is definitely my favorite sport.
Target handicap?
My target handicap is to be a scratch golfer someday.
Favorite item in your bag?
My favorite item in my bag is my 1996 Titleist Newport putter with the teryllium insert. It has some rust and dings but it looks perfect to me.
