Who are you?
I’m Cameron Eversole, Chief of Staff at @brekkygolf. I help steer brand strategy and growth for a handful of really cool emerging golf companies.
What’s golf to you?
To me, golf is one of the very rare places where people from all walks of life can connect… friends, family, even strangers, all brought together by nature, competition, or socialization. What makes it special is that it’s totally different for everyone. It can be peaceful, competitive, social, or sometimes even meditative. If you think of it, there aren’t many sports where a kid, a parent, and a grandparent of any gender can all play the same game together and have fun and genuinely compete. That’s what makes it so special to me.
Target handicap?
Shooting for scratch by the end of the year!
Favorite golf course?
Herndon Centennial Golf Course, it’s my home course where I learned to play the game and shot my lowest score, (70).
Favorite item in your bag?
I’d say my driver. I’ve always been able to hit it pretty straight and accurately, that’s unfortunately landed me as the first to tee in most scrambles. I’m working on adding speed right now, so it’s a bit more unpredictable lately, but it’s still my favorite club in the bag.
Shoutouts?
First, shoutout to @smitconn, he gave me my first real opportunity in golf, bringing me on full-time at Topgolf at a young age and becoming my first mentor in the space.
Second, to @seanrmaher, my current mentor, who’s helped me level up by applying those early lessons across new brands and adding a whole new layer of perspective on business growth and brand building.
